Matsato Osuren
“Matsato vs. Time”

Challenge
Make a premium kitchen knife memorable in the first seconds of a social feed.
Concept
Precision is a way to win back time. I staged the knife in a duel with an hourglass: a disciplined chef, a falling stream of sand, a clean slice. The title says it plainly: MATSATO VS. TIME.
The final commercial
The final 9:16 cut, 12.6 seconds. Best with sound on.
Creative decisions

A timeless opponent.
The hourglass gives the idea a cinematic symbol that reads instantly, even on mute.

A focused hero.
Dark, warm kitchen light and controlled movement keep every eye on the blade.

A title like a fight card.
Bold type turns a product moment into a match.

Rhythm as structure.
A drum-driven score and impact sound design shape the cut beat by beat.

Made for the feed.
Composed for 9:16 and 4:5, with the payoff inside the first seconds.
How it was made
Concept and visual direction → AI image and video generation → slash and timing iterations, reviewed and refined → rough cut → final edit in two formats.
